Study in Australia

Australia is home to some of the world’s top-ranking universities and offers an unparalleled lifestyle. However, the Australian government frequently updates its student visa policies, meaning a strategic approach is essential.

At Jinova Migration & Education Services, we are both QEAC-certified Education Agents and MARA-registered Migration Agents. This means we don't just help you enroll in a course; we map out your entire journey from your first day of class to your potential Permanent Residency (PR).

Student Visa (Subclass 500)

The Subclass 500 visa allows you to live, work, and study in Australia for up to 5 years, depending on your course length.

Key Requirements:

  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE): You must be enrolled in a full-time course registered on CRICOS.
  • English Proficiency: Minimum IELTS/PTE scores depending on the course and your passport.
  • Financial Capacity: Proof you have enough funds to cover tuition, travel, and 12 months of living costs.
  • Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of your stay.

The New Genuine Student (GS) Test

The Department of Home Affairs recently replaced the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement with the Genuine Student (GS) requirement. You must now answer specific targeted questions providing evidence of your study history, ties to your home country, and the economic value the course will bring to your future career. Our registered agents are experts at drafting compliant GS submissions.

Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)

The Subclass 485 visa is your bridge from study to professional work. It allows international students who have recently graduated from an Australian institution to stay, work full-time, and gain vital Australian work experience.

Two Main Streams:

  • Post-Study Work Stream: For graduates with a Bachelor degree or higher. Duration depends on your qualification (typically 2-3 years).
  • Graduate Work Stream: For international students who graduate with skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

Pathways to Permanent Residency

Choosing the right course is the first step toward Permanent Residency. By selecting courses aligned with Australia's skills shortages (such as Nursing, Engineering, IT, or Education) and studying in regional areas, you can maximize your points for General Skilled Migration (Subclasses 189, 190, 491).

Frequently Asked Questions

Migration law is incredibly complex and constantly changing. A MARA (Migration Agents Registration Authority) registered agent is legally required to act in your best interests, provide accurate advice, and maintain strict confidentiality. A single mistake on a DIY application can result in a refusal, loss of thousands in government fees, and a ban from reapplying.
